Drown is about the struggle one might have dealing with controlling people in life. Whether it be strict family dynamic, toxic ex, or even jealous friends, the feeling of being suffocated (or in this case drowning) can be too much to handle and the need to rebel against said people becomes prominent. The song came together after VILIVANT cut ties with certain people and the freedom that came with it.
